On 2nd September, Fera CEO Dr Andrew Swift joined Rachael Maskell MP, Lord Patrick Vallance (Minister of State in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, formerly Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology), and colleagues from the University of York to discuss the future of BioYorkshire.
The conversation centred on how BioYorkshire is tackling some of today’s biggest challenges - from building a sustainable circular economy to ensuring farming remains productive while reducing environmental impact.
Dr Swift reflected on the meeting:
"Fera has invested in BioYorkshire from the very beginning because its mission speaks directly to the needs of our national and international partners. The bioeconomy is growing rapidly, and BioYorkshire is helping position our region at its heart."
We’re proud to be working with world-class partners on this initiative and to share BioYorkshire’s vision with government leaders. Together, we’re building the skills, science, and opportunities needed for a greener, more resilient economy.
