  • Highest qualification
    MSc

Within this broad research area, Rosa has developed and applied mathematical models in fishery economics to determine sustainable harvest rules of European fish stocks; estimated carbon models of natural mixed forests to support the development of a REDD program in Guatemala; evaluated the impacts of climatic extreme events on mangroves and local communities in Colombia; and estimated the demand for novel crop insurance products in Spain. Her most recent work is on the design of public-private partnerships for biosecurity to understand how the government can incentivize industry efforts to manage pest risks. Much of her work involves the use of interdisciplinary approaches and often works closely with ecologists, mathematicians, social scientists and policy-makers.

More on Spatial Analysis and Remote Sensing

Whether you need to survey land to monitor crop health or yields, identify tree species, assess vegetation cover, or map large sites to determine ground conditions and resource availability, our Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) scientists can use cutting-edge UAV and sensor technology to supply all the imagery and analysis you need.

Fera scientists use Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and geographic analysis to visualise, analyse and interpret data in a spatial manner to help governments, policymakers and planners understand relationships, patterns and trends.
