Ioana is a microbiologist at Fera. Her role within the team includes all microbiological delivery as well as delivering the commercial shelf life offer. As part of this she provides consultancy for customers in the areas of microbiology, food safety, HACCP and allergen management.

Ioana has a wide range of knowledge gained through previous work within science and food manufacture, enabling her to offer guidance and science support for food businesses. She understands the needs and challenges faced by FBO and how to best address them through scientific analysis and training. She is also reading for her PhD, looking to develop a novel aptasensor for the detection of mycotoxins food and feed.
