As an Entomologist for Fera Science Ltd my role is to undertake identification of invertebrate samples. Primarily working on samples submitted by the Plant Health and Seeds Inspectorate (within the Animal and Plant Health Agency) in support of the DEFRA policy of ensuring the exclusion and/or containment of EU quarantine and other non-indigenous plant pests prohibited under legislation. As well as Diagnostics I am also involved with coordinating outreach/STEM events for Fera.

My background is in invertebrate ecology and conservation. I have 10 years of experience surveying, sampling and identifying invertebrates. Previously I worked in the conservation sector both with Buglife and the RSPB. I also have curatorial experience from time spent at both Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery and the NHM in London.
