Malcolm manages a team that carries out projects involving food contact materials (FCMs) and migration. The majority of this work involves managing the delivery of research and development projects involving non-targeted analysis using state-of-the-art equipment, with a particular focus on investigations into the determination (identification and quantification) of non-intentionally added substances (NIAS). One of the main aims of the team is to make the complicated process of NIAS determination more efficient and in synch with customer requirements and regulatory demands.

More about food packaging analysis

At Fera we carry out food packaging testing and contact materials testing to ensure that your products comply with the appropriate regulations for food contact materials. Our work involves research, surveillance and targeted and non targeted analysis of known and unknown migrants.
