Food Packaging PGCert

The Food Packaging PGCert focusses on innovation, traceability and design of food packaging in the food suppliers industry (part-time for 24 months). You will be suitable for this course if you are a packaging technologist, a production supervisor, a packaging developer or wanting to undertake food packaging projects. The PG Certificate consists of three modules: current issues in food safety, security and packaging, food packaging interactions and food packaging and sustainability. The modules will include presentations from key industry figures in packaging safety and regulation. Industrial case studies will be used to present the strategies and solutions to current issues, helping you gain a deeper insight into the application of how theory and practice meet in real world scenarios. It is also possible to study modules individually as part of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). For more information please follow the link below:

CPD Courses in Food Packaging

These courses will provide you with a complete understanding of food packaging regulations and frameworks. You will also examine its role within food safety, security and sustainability. These courses cover the latest developments in food packaging and its impact on society and the environment. They also examine the legal and regulatory framework relating to packaging material use and disposal and the circular economy. The courses are informed by the latest research and developments in the industry to reflect the changing requirements and techniques undertaken in all aspects of food packaging. You can attend the first two days of each course as a CPD delegate. If you would like to work towards the award of PGCert in Food Packaging, achieving 20 credits (10 ECTS credits) for each course, you will need to attend the third day which includes an industrial visit.

IAFRI is based at Fera at the National Agri-Food Innovation Campus (Sand Hutton, North Yorkshire) and at the School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (AFRD) at Newcastle University and on its two research farms (Nafferton and Cockle Park) in Northumberland.
