Globally recognised provider of proficiency tests, running over 400 tests annually across an extensive range of matrices and analytes
A single sample taken by an ecologist at any time during the newt breeding season can determine their presence or absence, saving you time and money
A step on from LAND360's Mapping+, our Scoring+ package uses established methods to refine the evaluation of identified natural capital, providing tangible insights that enable sustainable land management decisions.
THE SCORING+ PACKAGE INCLUDES:
Utilising a baseline map of your land, Fera’s Land Management team provides validation of your identified natural capital and its potential value. Our experts will enhance the biodiversity and carbon mapping produced in Mapping+ by running the Defra/Natural England Biodiversity Net Gain Metric using information from field observations of habitat condition and updating standardised habitat carbon values based on soil carbon measurements and species composition of the vegetation.
Through site visits, our ecologists can conduct more detailed validation, condition assessments of habitat and feature quality and an opportunity to highlight further opportunities. Site visits can confirm or further define habitat classification which is particularly important for many habitats of high conservation status. The site visit provides the opportunity to refine estimates of biodiversity units and carbon density and flux mapping, to better reflect the value of your natural capital.
A range of condition variables will be measured and used to update and refine the calculation of biodiversity units and soil surveys will update carbon scores to provide a better understanding of your natural capital assets.
These activities will produce a bespoke estate and individual parcel level score, providing individual biodiversity net gain and carbon storage values for your land, classified by habitat or feature and quantifying the value of your natural capital. These values and scores will be provided to you as a combination of easily comprehensible maps and reports. These data can then be used to underpin future land management decisions based on how your natural capital scores may be affected.
