Honey
We offer extensive honey quality and authenticity analysis capabilities. We are the only laboratory in the UK to be the preferred partner of the UMF® Honey Association as an official testing laboratory for independently verifying the UMF® rating of Manuka honey.
Meat and Seafood
Offering a variety of meat and fish authenticity testing, Fera are able to provide insight into the authenticity of your produce using tests which include, but are not limited to, species identification, geographic origin studies and feeding regime verification to support your due diligence activities.
Gelatine
As gelatine is a highly processed product (and a high level of processing disrupts DNA and proteins), it is difficult to determine the species of origin as methods such as DNA analyses and protein analyses by immunoassays are disrupted. Fera has developed a peptide LC-MS/MS technique which can be used to determine the origin of the gelatine, for example whether a food product or ingredient contains ruminant or pork gelatine, to a known detection level.
Wines, Beers, Spirits and Fruit Juice
Strengthening your brand and consumer confidence: Utilising a multidisciplinary approach, Fera can provide an overall snapshot of wine, spirits and fruit juice samples, evaluating their quality against known and lesser-known adulteration tactics.
