  1. Pesticide Multi-Residue Screen 1 (Cereals, Fruit & Veg & Other)
Fera is a UK National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for Pesticide Residues. Fera has established a reputation for implementing new technologies, developing and validating new methodologies and extending the scope of existing methods in order to include new pesticide/matrix combinations. This multi-residue suite is for testing for pesticides in cereals, herbs & spices, fruit & vegetables, sugar, nuts, spirits and juice/concentrates.
  2. Pesticide Multi-Residue Screen 2 (Cereals, Fruit & Veg & Others)
Fera is a UK National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for Pesticide Residues. Fera has established a reputation for implementing new technologies, developing and validating new methodologies and extending the scope of existing methods in order to include new pesticide/matrix combinations. This multi-residue suite is for testing for pesticides in fruit & vegetables, herbs & spices, sugar, cereals, nuts, spirits, juice/concentrates and coffee.
  3. Quaternary Ammonium Compounds (QACs)
This procedure is for determination of Quaternary Ammonium Compounds or QACs, as these are more commonly known. The methodology both identifies presence (screen) and quantifies residues within your food sample using state of the art liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) equipment.
  4. Ethephon
This procedure is for determination of Ethephon in red grapes. The methodology both identifies (screen) and quantifies residues within your food sample using state of the art liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) equipment.
  5. Dithiocarbamates
This procedure is for determination of dithiocarbamates in a wide range of unprocessed foods, sugar and infant formula. We can potentially test for processed foods - please get in touch. The methodology both identifies (screen) and quantifies residues within your food sample using state of the art liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) equipment.
  6. AOF Package (Aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2, total; ochratoxin A and fumonisins FB1, FB2 and FB3)
Fera Science Limited can analyse food or feed samples to measure levels of Aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2, total; ochratoxin A and fumonisins FB1, FB2 and FB3. The methods used are fully compliant with EU contaminants legislation to allow you to assess your compliance with regulatory limits in place.
  7. 3-MCPD Analysis
3-MCPD (3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol), 2-MCPD (2-monochloropropane-1,2-diol) and glycidyl esters are a by-product of processing or refining edible oils and fats and are only relatively recent in their discovery.
  8. β-agonists
β-Agonists (beta-agonists or Beta adrenergic agonists) are used in veterinary medicine to treat pulmonary disorders, but have also been used illegally as growth promoters for more efficient meat production. Fera’s food safety scientists can screen your food samples to check residue levels and confirm they are not present where not permitted, for example from use as illicit growth promoters in the EU.
  9. Pesticide Multi-Residue Screen 1 (Animal Products)
Fera is a UK National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for Pesticide Residues. Fera has established a reputation for implementing new technologies, developing and validating new methodologies and extending the scope of existing methods in order to include new pesticide/matrix combinations. This multi-residue suite is for testing for pesticides in animal products like milk, cheese, meat and hens' eggs.
  10. Pesticide Multi-Residue Screen 2 (Animal Products)
  11. Trenbolone / Zeranol
Fera scientists can undertake screening procedures to detect trenbolone and zeranol within food samples. Trenbolone is an anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS), used in veterinary to improves muscle mass, and appetite.
  12. Tiamulin
Food safety experts at Fera can screen your samples for residues of the veterinary medicine, tiamulin, highlighting their presence and quantifying levels present. Tiamulin is a member of the pleuromutilin class of antibiotic drugs that is used in the treatment of bacterial infections particularly for pigs and poultry.
