  1. Foliar nematodes from plant material (excluding bulbs)

    Many plant species are susceptible to infection by foliar parasitic nematodes, leaf and bulb nematodes (Aphelenchoides spp.) and stem nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci).

  2. Additional pospiviroid seed testing (1500 seeds)

    Pospiviroid positives detected by real time RT-PCR (TaqMan) are tested by RT-PCR and sequencing to try to identify and confirm the pospiviroid - this is a supplementary test to our standard Pospiviroid seed testing package.

  3. Identification and confirmation of pospiviroid seed positive

    Pospiviroid positives detected by real time RT-PCR (TaqMan) are tested by RT-PCR and sequencing to try to identify and confirm the pospiviroid.

  4. Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) seed testing package (1500 seeds)

    Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) effects tomato, pepper and other solanaceous hosts. Symptoms include stunting, severe yellowing and distortion of the leaves. PSTVd is seed transmitted. 1500 seeds are tested for Potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) by real time RT-PCR (TaqMan). However, this TaqMan assay also detects Tomato chlorotic dwarf viroid (TCDVd), Mexican papita viroid (MPVd) and Tomato planta macho viroid (TPMVd).

  5. Pospiviroid seed testing package (1500 seeds)

    Pospiviroid positives detected by real time RT-PCR (TaqMan) are tested by RT-PCR and sequencing to try to identify and confirm the pospiviroid.

  6. DNA sequencing of 16S rDNA or housekeeping genes
    DNA sequencing of 16S rDNA or housekeeping genes can be performed to identify bacterial isolates to a species or pathovar level. Testing can be performed on fresh isolates sent in to our labs or as an additional service to identify bacteria isolated from a sample sent in for testing.
  7. Fatty Acid Profiling
    Fatty Acid Profiling (FAP) is used to identify bacterial isolates and is accredited to UKAS ISO17025 standards. The profiles generated are compared against commercially available FAP libraries as well as our own in-house libraries generated using isolates from the National Collection of Plant Pathogenic Bacteria (NCPPB).
  8. Diagnose My Crop Problem
    We understand that every case is different and often you may not know the likely cause of the problem. For these cases we offer an examination of your sample by our crop health experts to assess the most probable cause.
  9. Pospiviroid screen
    A PCR screen to identify the presence of a number of popsiviroids in symptomatic plants/leaves including Potato spindle tuber viroid, Tomato chlorotic dwarf viroid, and Columnea latent viroid.
  10. Chrysanthemum stunt viroid (CSVd)
    Test to identify Chrysanthemum stunt viroid (CSVd) within your plant sample. This viroid is known to cause stunting and premature flowering within some cultivars.
  11. Diagnose my Fungal Problem
