  1. Detection of EU authorised GM ingredients in food and feed (Qualitative Screen)

    GM testing has become an important process in ensuring food safety across the seed, food and animal feed sectors.

  2. Beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV) - Rhizomania
    Rhizomania is caused by infection of the plants by Beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV).
  3. Brassica virus screening (3 virus screen)
    Test to identify 3 viruses that can cause significant damage to brassica crops including oilseed rape.
  4. Potato brown rot & ring rot (Official EU Protocol) - Ralstonia solanacearum & Clavibacter sepedonicus
    This test is to detect the presence of Ring Rot and Brown Rot in potato tubers.
  5. Rapid direct tuber test for virus in Potato (PVY)
    This rapid direct tuber test includes Potato virus Y (PVY) as standard.

    Further viruses are available for an additional fee. These are Potato leaf roll virus (PLRV) and potato viruses PVA, PVV and PVX.

  6. Standard growing on test for virus in Potato (PVY)
    This growing on test takes six to eight weeks where tubers are grown on in the glasshouse and subsequently tested for various PVY strains and any specific viruses as requested using ELISA.
  7. Identification of Trichoderma aggressivum on compost
    Test for Trichoderma aggressivum, which can infect and colonise healthy, productive mushroom compost. It causes compost green mould in Agaricus.
  8. Tomato root mat disease (Root-inducing plasmid) testing
    A test for Tomato Root Mat Disease caused by Rhizobium rhizogenes, a gram-negative soil bacterium that contains root-inducing (Ri) plasmids which can lead to over-abundant growth of roots in tomatoes and cucumbers.
  9. Crown Gall Disease (Tumor-Inducing Plasmid) Testing
    A test for Rhizobium radiobacter (formerly known as Agrobacterium tumefaciens), which is responsible for crown gall disease in plants. The bacterium enters the plant through wounds in roots or stems and stimulates disorganised tissue growth, producing swollen galls.
  10. Chrysanthemum stunt viroid (CSVd)
    Test to identify Chrysanthemum stunt viroid (CSVd) within your plant sample. This viroid is known to cause stunting and premature flowering within some cultivars.
  11. Pospiviroid screen
    A PCR screen to identify the presence of a number of popsiviroids in symptomatic plants/leaves including Potato spindle tuber viroid, Tomato chlorotic dwarf viroid, and Columnea latent viroid.
  12. Strawberry red core (Phytophthora fragariae) in plants (Non-Symptomatic)
    This test for Strawberry Red Core (Phytophthora fragariae) on non-symptomatic plants allows for the detection of low levels of the disease in propogation material.
