Globally recognised provider of proficiency tests, running over 400 tests annually across an extensive range of matrices and analytes
A single sample taken by an ecologist at any time during the newt breeding season can determine their presence or absence, saving you time and money
Our scientists have extensive experience in conducting studies on microorganisms in the soil. All studies are carried out in line with current international guidelines and guidance documents, and we can adapt our services to provide bespoke tests that meet your specific data requirements.
You can choose from the following soil organism tests:
This test evaluates the acute toxicity of your chemical on earthworms. Earthworms are exposed to treated soil in a range of concentrations to assess the effects upon mortality and weight.
This test investigates the long-term effects of chemicals, after a single exposure, on the nitrogen transformation activity of soil microorganisms. Soil is mixed with your product and samples are taken at intervals throughout the test period. The nitrate transformation rate is determined, and compared with untreated control samples.
This test assesses the effects of your chemical in the soil on the reproductive output of soil mites. Adult female mites are exposed to a range of concentrations of test substance for a set period. The numbers of surviving adults and juveniles is determined. The reproductive output of the test mites is compared to that of a control group.
This test assesses the effects of your chemical in the soil on the reproductive output of collembolans. Adult collembola are exposed to a range of concentrations of test substance for a set period. The numbers of surviving adults and juveniles is determined. The reproductive output of the test mites is compared to that of a control group.
