Cypermethrin is a non-systematic pyrethroid insecticide with a wide range of agricultural applications, including the control of ectoparasites in domesticated animals. It is highly toxic to most aquatic species and honeybees.
Cypermethrin is approved for use as an insecticide in the UK for a range of vegetables and plants. Cypermethrin is also approved for use as a veterinary drug to control ectoparasites on sheep, cattle and horses in the UK. Cypermethrin is a regulated pesticide in the EU and MRLs are set various commodities under EU regulation (EC) No 396/2005.
Cypermethrin is analysed at Fera using the latest state-of-the-art GC-MS/MS instrumentation for unequivocal and accurate results.
