Test for the presence of Rhizomania caused by Beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV) within soil. BNYVV can cause severe damage if the infection spreads into the whole plant. Symptoms include yellowing of leaves in the field, narrow leaf blade, stunting and development of a root beard.

The virus can rest in spores of Polymyxa betae which are highly resistant to various prevention measures. These spores can rest in soil for more than two decades. When the spores germinate they transmit the virus into the plant, which once infected are less able to take up water, which can dramatically affect crop yield, and wilting can be observed.

Yield losses depend greatly on the weather conditions during the season, time of infection and the prevention measures currently used. In severe infections, yields can be reduced by 50% or more, while sugar contents can be significantly reduced, causing a dramatic effect on the financial success of this crop.

Discounts are available for multiple samples.
