Employing nearly 400 people, including 350 scientists at the National Agri-Food Innovation Campus in York our origins in delivering science for the public good began over 100 years ago as the Institute for Plant Pathology.

Fera is now a private and public sector joint venture partnership between Capita and Defra. We work proactively and collaboratively with the private sector, UK government departments and other public bodies, international governments and organisations improving global food security, sustainability and safety.
