Soil Health from Fera

Soil testing enables more precision farming practices to be delivered as it helps farmers and agronomists to understand the biological diversity of soils in relation to both plant health and productivity. With increased restrictions on pesticides, the lack of new active ingredients coming onto the market and increased pesticide resistance, finding ways to reduce treatment applications can save time and money for farmers but also minimises selection pressure on the pathogens.

Rapid Direct Tuber Test for Potato Virus
Get insights in just 5 days

Viruses cause some of the most economically damaging problems affecting potatoes and are a major reason for crops failing seed certification. Viruses are destructive in both seed and ware crops causing yield loss and quality issues, so understanding the virus load in the seed pre-planting is critical to managing crop outcomes. Fera Science Ltd has a long track record of providing high quality rapid direct tuber testing, enabling growers/ advisors to have the most accurate information in a fraction of the time it takes to test with conventional methods.

We want to help growers lower their virus risks and reduce their costs so, through innovative improvements in the delivery of these tests we have been able to reduce the price for the 2017 / 18 season to £230.
